Clek Foonf Convertible Car Seat Review & Giveaway

| May 10, 2013 | 12 Comments

Clek products are a favorite in our house, not only because the sleek designs but because of the time they put into making the safest car seat out on the market. We can’t replace our kids so why chance it?

Let’s talk safety, the most important part of any car seat.

The Clek Foonf features the React Safety System which reduces forces on the forward facing child in by up to 40%, Foonf is built on a steel sub-structure with energy-absorbing foam in the sides and headrest to protect in side-impact. In a collision, the vehicle comes to an abrupt stop, but the child continues to move at the same speed. The less time that it takes for the child to come to a complete stop, the higher the forces exerted on the child. The REACT Safety System allows that sudden change in momentum to happen over a longer period of time through a series of controlled events. Foonf is designed to ride down the collision crumpling the aluminum honeycomb and absorbing energy from the collision resulting in less force transferred to the child. See how Foonf performs.

Foonf is designed with latch system, making proper forward-facing installation effortless. It’s really simple to use also! We had no trouble unlatching it. Most cars have seat belts these days but if for some reason yours doesn’t or simply don’t want to then the latch system will come in handy. I use the base latches along with a seat belt for added protection. Over 80% of child seats in North America are not used properly. Hands down the easiest Forward-Facing installation in its class.

Its narrow width profile of under 17″ at its widest point (and 13″ at the base) provides space that makes 3-across seating possible! I can’t imagine having three kids in car seats all in one back seat! Like who does that! lol. I guess if you have to it’s a nice feature. Luckily my Tahoe has a lot of room with two captain seats in the middle and a third row seat. So I obviously don’t have a problem with lack of car seat space. Don’t get me started on mini vans, way too young to own one of those and never will.. HA!

Unique design improves Rear-Facing installation with an easy-access belt path, small footprint and Anti-Rebound Bar that provide a snug installation with ease. How many of you have owned an infant seat and have seen the car seat slide back and fourth when turning a corner? Yea..not very safe! That wont happen with the Foonf.. I assure you.

I really like how the harness can attach to the sides by a magnet. This makes it SO much easier to get a baby in and out of the car seat. It even helps me get my sleeping 4 year old in the seat with no hassle.

My 4 year old is 40″ tall and weighs 35 pounds. As you can see he fits into the Foonf perfectly with room to spare!

As your child grows so does your Foonf. The adjustable head rest makes it easy to fit to your child’s height.

Check out my video review

*note in the video review I stated that it will fit newborns* It’s 14 pounds and up or able to sit up on their own. Unless you give birth to a 14 pound baby that can sit up then we’re all good right!

Also This video is not intended to show you how to install a car seat properly, I’m simply just showing the features & what it can do 😉
