Magik Play Wooden Blocks iPad Games
Magik Play wooden blocks is the world’s first iPad smart toy that merges traditional wooden toys with educational games, creating a more engaging, physical and truly fun experience for preschoolers. Each kit includes 10 “smart” blocks, a wooden iPad stand and 3 games, adapted to different ages that explore educational challenges. In each game, kids are asked to find solutions by assembling the physical wooden blocks. This iPad toy enhances tots motor skills, spatial reasoning, creativity and collaboration. Best of all it can be played solo or with siblings and parents.
Lauren couldn’t wait to open the box and try this out on her iPad mini. The box contains the blocks, stand and the simple startup directions. All we had to do was simply download the free app. It was so simple to set up!
When opened, the blocks and stand were neatly placed in their sections. So colorful and organized. I like that! See the little dots on the block? Those are tiny magnets! How does it work?
Each block has a magik spell that irradiates a powerful energy detected by the tablet circuits…
No, not really…they use the iPad sensors… but the code wizard did her magik to create an game for your tablet to detect that energy when you bring together the blocks and the tablet.

We placed the iPad mini in the provided dock and followed the directions but couldn’t seem to get it working. That is until we realized that we needed to take off Lauren’s iPad case as that affected the play.
When playing these games, children and parents needn’t worry about batteries, wires or pairing. Products are carefully designed and crafted in Portugal (UE), meet all the safety requirements and are environmentally conscious. I really like Magik Play and think this is an awesome learning and motor skill tool for small children.
Handling blocks requires spatial thinking, measurement skills, orientation reasoning and motor skills, besides the interaction and social aspects that come from playing in group. It takes children away from the mindless tap and swiping on the screen to develop skills that are important foundations for learning several subjects. Studies suggest that block skill is predictive of mathematical skill.
