Thule Urban Glide Review

Living in a city where there are streets, dirt paths for jogging and of course naturally surrounded by mountains, I need a stroller that can keep up with me while keeping my child comfortable and protected. Not many stroller manufactures can do all of this. Usually they end up cutting corners, mainly very important aspects of a stroller that are needed for all terrain and out door use.

The Thule Urban Glide is the perfect stroller to take anywhere with you! It’s definitly an all-round sports stroller with a sleek and lightweight design making it perfect for urban mobility or jogging on your favorite path.

The Urban glide has a compact one handed fold which makes it great for ease of transporting. It’s really nice to find a jogging stroller that actually fits in my trunk without having to take it apart like most other leading manufacturers. It’s only 23 lbs so it’s light enough for easy lifting.

The front swivels which is great for easy maneuverability and also locks into place for jogging. Can’t get any better than that right?! The front and back tires are air filled, the breaking system is a little stiff to use but manageable. Though I wish manufactures would add in a complimentary mini air pump. There have been numerous times where I’ve gone to use a stroller and a tire has been flat. That’s no Bueno. The suspension on the Urban Glide is awesome! I really like to test my strollers on some rough terrain and I have to say it handled very well and according to my son, rode very smoothly.

Speaking of ride, the seat is pretty nice and comfortable also. It’s padded which adds to the smoothness of the ride. The seat also comes with a padded 5 point harness, vented tops, mesh pockets for drinks and toys and fully reclines for a sleepy child.  The padded seat also reclines to a near flat position for on-the-go naps!

I’m about average height so I don’t usually have issues with the handlebar but for those who are shorter or taller can push this stroller with ease with it’s awesome ergonomic handle bar that adjusts to your height. The handle bar has to be in the lower position for folding also.

One of the most important features on any stroller is the canopy. Usually when you’re pushing a stroller you’re outdoors and the outdoor elements can be too much for your little ones. This boasts a multi position canopy for added protection with view-in roof port to see your child. The canopy is huge and I love it!

I also love the large storage compartment underneath the stroller which comes with a zippered water resistant cover which is great to store stuff without the worry of your items falling out if you’re jogging on rough terrain or items getting stolen when you’re out. I like that feature a lot.

One thing I love is the foot rest. It’s a hard plastic not fabric. I’ve noticed on a lot of joggers that I’ve tested the fabric rips only in that area due to wear and tear from the child’s feet and dirt and rocks get trapped and am left constantly cleaning it. . I love that it’s a hard plastic!
